- FCC provides financing for retailers who sell their products to buyers such as you who want to purchase a
retailer's product on credit. When you purchase a product from a retailer on credit, you submit a credit application
to the retailer and sign a retail installment sales contract (the “Contract”). If FCC chooses to purchase the Contract,
we then have all the information contained on your application and in your credit report.
- FCC also refinances certain of its existing Contracts. If FCC refinances an existing Contract
with you, the extension of credit related to the refinance is a new direct loan with FCC. If you obtain
such a loan with FCC, we may also obtain additional information from or about you (including a credit report
and your existing account information with FCC).
-
FCC also acts as a service provider to certain of its affiliates in servicing Contracts that the affiliate
may have purchased from retailers who sell their products on credit. In these circumstances, FCC collects the same
type of information from its affiliate and/or the retailer about you as FCC would in the case of when it purchases a
Contract directly for itself.
When reviewing information provided to us about you as indicated above,
FCC also collects additional information that may include:
-
Reports from outside sources that would assist us in the evaluation and verification of
information contained in your credit application, such as reports from any references
given in your application, including employers, financial institutions, investment brokers,
or educational institutions, as well as reports from companies with whom you had business or
credit relationships that describe those relationships, account balances and payment/performance history.
-
Reports from credit reporting agencies providing account balances, payment history and demographic data information.
